Dr. Ruby O. Anderson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Ruby Anderson is a healthcare administrator and Registered Nurse for over thirty-five years.  Her last full-time position before retirement was as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Prince George’s Hospital Center, Cheverly, MD, a position which she held for 7 years and was responsible for more than 1,000 employees.

She is board certified as Nursing Executive Advanced (NEA-BC) and champions the creation and implementation of ideal structures and organizational culture, resulting in performance excellence. In 2017, she added Patient-Centered Medical Home Certified Content Expert (PCMH CCE) to her portfolio of credentials.

 

A life-time proponent of Health and Wellness, she retired after 20 years of service in the United States Navy Reserve Nurse Corps, at the rank of Captain. In that capacity, among other numerous assignments, she served as the Officer-in-Charge for a Medical Detachment, supervising the activities of Physicians, Dentists, Nurses and medical technicians who provided the regular medical care for the Naval Operations Support Center to which they are assigned.  Other assignments included responsibilities as the Health and Wellness Program Director for sailors and Marines attached to a Naval Operations Support Center.

 

She earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Walden University, a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Catholic University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Washington Adventist University (formally Columbia Union College).
